CARNIVAL FOR 2017 WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY 30th SEPTEMBER
Would any organisation who would like a donation this year from the Carnival Funds please apply to the Carnival Secretary. Please state the name of your organisation, what it does and what the donation is required for. Send your application to: The Burnham Carnival Secretary, 26 Princes Road, CM0 8BX. Applications should be received by Monday 7th November 2016.

THE CARNIVAL REQUIRES VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH THE MARSHALLING AND STEWARDING OF THE GRAND ILLUMINATED PROCESSION ON 30TH SEPTEMBER. WITHOUT THESE VOLUNTEERS IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE PROCESSION. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HELPING IN THIS WAY PLEASE CALL OUR CHAIRMAN ON 01621 782828.
Burnham-on-Crouch Carnival is one of the most successful carnivals in the South East, this has not only been achieved by the hard work of the carnival committees over the years, but also the wonderful Tableaux and fancy dresses in the Grand Illuminated proccession.To keep this up we require as many Tableaux as possible, there can't be too many. Get together and start thinking of ideas for this year, organisations, families, Streets, Commercial, individual! It doesn't have to be a forty foot trailer, it can be any size, any shape, serious or down right silly. Can you make the crowds that line the streets of Burnham laugh or go WOW! You will most certainly enjoy the experience, and there are various trophies to be won on the night, and a prize of £250 for the best Tableaux in the Procession.

Once again souvenir T-SHIRTS for the Carnival are on sale. Last year the shirts sold out fast and many were disappointed. So to avoid disappointment again this year, hurry and get your T-SHIRTS from the outlets listed at the bottom of this page. The price is Adult £8 and Child £5.
ALL THE PROFITS WILL GO TO THE CARNIVAL FUND TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO LOCAL CHARITIES AND GOOD CAUSES.
Burnham carnival is run by a Committee of volunteers, to raise money for local charities and good causes. This is not just the last Saturday in September but an all year involvement. The Committee holds regular meetings throughout the year. All are welcome to attend. To find out details of meetings please go to the INFORMATION page.
There are various fund raising activities during the course of the year, such as Bingo and Table top sales. Details of these and any other activities that are organised by the comittee can also be found on the INFORMATION page.
Our Carnival Queen and her Court will be visiting many Carnivals throughout Essex during the course of her reign, the details of which and all information concerning the Court can be found on the CARNIVAL COURT page.
There are be various activities during the week leading up to Carnival day, such as Darts and domino competitions, a quiz night, bingo, bonniest baby show. Details of all these activities, and any others that are arranged, will be posted on the PRE CARNIVAL EVENTS page.
Burnham Carnival day commences at 9.30 a.m. with the crowning of the Queen and her Court. There will then be many activities throughout the morning and afternoon in and around the High Street, with the superb backdrop of the Clocktower. Details and times for all the events will be posted on the CARNIVAL DAY page, nearer the time, as soon as known. And of course there is the wonderful Shop Window displays throughout the Town.
We are grateful to all our visiting judges who deliberate on the procession entries, shop windows, baby competition and lots more. This year their refreshments and tea is generously being provided and hosted by the QUEENS HEAD, Providence. The pub will also be open all day on Carnival day with their normal good range of ale and other drink.
There are a great number of sponsers and supporters for the Burnham Carnival. The Committee would like to extend their many thanks to these sponsers and supporters without whom the Carnival would be unable to carry on in it's present format. Once again this year there will be Carnival T-Shirts for sale. Last year these proved to be very popular and sold out before Carnival Day, so don't miss out again this year. They come in a range of sizes from childs S up to adult XXXL. Adult sizes are £8 and childrens £5
